There will be 78 golfers doing their best to win a piece of the $9,750,000 purse. If you’re wondering who’s going to get the biggest chunk – $1,755,000 – you’re at the right place.

Why Dustin Johnson is the #1 Favorite?
Oddsmakers think of Dustin Johnson as the #1 favorite to win the 2021 CJ CUP. No surprise there, as the 37-year-old American is the highest-ranked golfer taking part in this tournament.
Another reason behind Johnson being the betting favorite is that he’s been playing terrific golf lately. Just two weeks ago, we saw him leading Team US to a memorable win at the 2021 Ryder Cup.
Johnson was superb at Whistling Straits, winning all five of his matches, thus becoming only the fifth player to achieve such a feat in the history of the tournament.
If you have questions regarding his motivation, Johnson isn’t going to lack any. The thing is that he’s been without a PGA Tour win since last November.
Can Someone Upset the Odds?
Johnson is a slight favorite ahead of his teammates, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas, both of whom are priced at +1200. Then, there’s Rory McIlroy, who has the shortest odds of all the European golfers.
Bookmakers are giving +1600 on the Northern Irishman to win the 2021 CJ Cup. The same odds are given for Collin Morikawa.
Although all of them are expected to finish in the Top 5, Dustin Johnson is the favorite for a reason. He’s arguably the best US golfer at the moment, who seems to be in a trophy-winning mood right now, despite being already in his late thirties.
